Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required for position – will obtain during hospital orientation.
• Maintains compliance in RQI required.

Aufgaben

• Obtains blood samples for analysis in all areas of the hospital on patients of all ages.
• Prioritizes STAT, urgent, timed and routine orders for proper draw timing.
• Maintains adequate stock of supplies including stocking carts and notifying supervisor if supplies need to be ordered.
• Labels tubes appropriately and accurately.
• Collects Blood Bank specimens and completes Blood Bank Bracelets.
• Operates Mobilab PC handheld device efficiently and troubleshooting devices as needed.
• Assists with training new phlebotomy employees and students.
• Cleans lab equipment including carts, handhelds, and printers.
• Reviews and signs all electronic document control records as assigned.
• Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
