Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED.
• Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred.
• Must have current registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
• Ability to pass pharmacy math and spelling tests with at least 80%.

Responsibilities

• Follows procedures to prepare and distribute medication orders under pharmacist supervision.
• Operates an electronic cash register, collecting payment and giving correct change.
• Prepares for each shift by handling cash and ensuring workstation readiness.
• Delivers cash receipts and reports to the manager after each shift.
• May perform prescription order entry into ambulatory pharmacy system.
• Maintains inventory records and prescription hardcopies.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of pharmacy areas.
• Acts as a resource for pharmacy questions from staff, patients and visitors.
• Maintains knowledge of rules, regulations and licensure; keeps up licensure requirements.
