Job summary

Parkland Health seeks a Pharmacy Technician for the night shift at New Parkland Hospital. You will support pharmacists, prepare and label orders, assist cashiering, and help maintain pharmacy records and inventory.

The role requires a high school diploma/GED, Texas registration, and preferably CPhT; training to perform cashier duties within 90 days will be provided. Strong computer and pharmacy software skills are essential.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required.
Current Texas State Board of Pharmacy registration preferred.
CPhT certification preferred.
Must pass pharmacy math and spelling test with 80%.
Must complete training to perform cashier duties within 90 days.
Basic PC skills and ability to learn pharmacy software.

Responsibilities

Follows procedures to prepare and distribute medication orders under pharmacist supervision.
Operates electronic cash register, handles charges and cash transactions.
Prepares cash workstations and ensures readiness at shift start.
Deliver cash receipts and reports to manager after shift.
May perform prescription order entry into ambulatory pharmacy system.
Help maintain inventory records and prescription hardcopies.
Maintain cleanliness and stock in pharmacy areas and ensure accessibility.
Serve as resource for non-judgmental pharmacy questions to staff, patients, and visitors.
Maintain licensure and adhere to laws, regulations, and accreditation requirements.
