Job summary

Phoenix Children's Hospital is seeking experienced RN staff for the General Pediatrics unit at the Thomas Campus in downtown Phoenix for night shift positions. Staff collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to care for infants through young adults, managing GI, endocrine, infectious disease, and post-operative needs.

The role emphasizes patient- and family-centered care, with a strong team culture and ongoing education. Orientation is tailored to experience; new grads are not eligible.

Qualifications

• RN licensed with inpatient experience; 1 year minimum to be considered.
• Pediatric RN experience preferred; adult-to-peds transitions welcome.
• New grads will not be considered for this role.

Responsibilities

• Completes nursing assessments considering age, development, and condition to plan care.
• Evaluates patient responses, documents progress, and shares updates with team and families.
• Ensures compliance with medication, storage, and documentation standards and regulations.
• Provides orientation to the unit, hospital systems, and processes for patients and families.
• Supervises care activities of the team and provides timely feedback to maintain patient safety.
• Coordinates plan of care with the care team and families; participates in rounds and conferences.
• Mentors students and new staff, fostering a learning environment and knowledge sharing.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as requested.
