Mercy Health's Med/Surg Telemetry Unit at St. Rita’s in Lima, OH seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support patients under RN guidance. Responsibilities include basic patient care, vital signs, hygiene, mobility, and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in acute care, physician’s office, home health/hospice, or long-term care facility; preference for the applying setting.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred upon hire (must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care).
• Must have completed one of the following: (required).
• EPIC EHR training (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, personal care and hygiene, and aiding mobility.
• Reports changes/concerns to nurse and serves as liaison between patient and clinical staff.
• Delivers high-quality customer service to patients and families.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely.
• Participates in hand-off/report of pertinent information upon arrival and departure.
• Performs delegated tasks after competency is validated.
• Mobilizes patients using safe techniques and promotes independence.
• Tailors care to patient interests and abilities.
