Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the St. Rita's Medical Center Neuro Stepdown (4A) unit. This full-time night shift (7pm-7am) includes every third weekend.

The role focuses on basic patient care, safety, and collaboration with nursing staff in a fast-paced hospital setting. Responsibilities include vital signs, hygiene, mobility support, and accurate documentation in EPIC EHR. Licensing requirements and training support are provided.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in acute care, physician's office, home health/hospice or long-term care setting.
• Completion of nursing aide training program OR STNA/CNA certification OR completion of a nursing program with clinical nursing course.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, hygiene and mobility support.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes/concerns.
• Maintains accurate, timely documentation of patient care in the EHR.
• Participates in hand-off reports and ensures smooth patient transitions.
