Job summary

Licking Memorial Health Systems (LMHS) is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for the CCU night shift in Newark, OH. Under RN supervision, you will support patient care activities and assist clinicians in delivering high-quality care.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, CPR certification, and willingness to obtain or maintain EMR skills and ECG testing proficiency. A renewal of licensure (STNA/NA/MA) is preferred, with a strong commitment to patient safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement, high school diploma or GED.
• Read, write, and follow verbal or written instructions.
• Maintain CPR certification.
• STNA, NA or MA licensure preferred.
• Obtain/maintain electronic medical record documentation skills.
• Work independently and professionally.
• Obtain/maintain 12 lead ECG testing proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lifts, transfers, and transports patients safely to inpatient beds and to/from ancillary departments.
• Collect, perform, and document urine and glucometer tests and quality controls.
• Collect, label, and enter specimens obtained.
• Perform one-to-one monitoring on restrained, suicidal, combative, and other high-risk patients as requested by RN or physician.
• Obtain vitalsignals and weights.
• Enter work orders in computer.
• Stock supplies at bedside.
