Job summary

Licking Memorial Health Systems (LMHS) is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for 4 East, night shift in Newark, OH. You will assist nurses with basic patient care activities and monitor certain patients under supervision.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, CPR certification, and EMR experience. STNA/NA/MA licensure preferred; commitment to patient safety is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Read, write, and follow verbal or written instructions.
• CPR certification required.
• STNA, NA or MA licensure preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records recommended.
• Ability to work independently and professionally.
• Proficiency in 12-lead ECG testing.
• DNV and TJC education requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Lifts, transfers, transport patients safely to an inpatient bed and to and from ancillary departments.
• Collect, perform and document urine and glucometer tests and quality controls.
• Collect, label, and enter specimens obtained.
• One-to-one monitoring for high-risk patients as directed by RN or physician.
• Obtain vital signs and weights.
• Enter work orders in computer.
• Stock supplies at bedside.
