Job summary

Licking Memorial Health Systems (LMHS) is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for the 5 East Med Surg Post Surgical unit in Newark, OH. Under RN supervision, you will perform patient care activities to support clinicians and ensure patient comfort and safety.

This full-time day shift position requires a high school diploma or GED, CPR certification, and the ability to work independently. Experience with EMR, ECG, and STNA/NA/MA licensure preferred; opportunities for growth include a Student

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Read, write, and follow verbal or written instructions.
Maintain CPR certification.
STNA, NA or MA licensure preferred.
Obtain/maintain electronic medical record documentation skills.
Work independently and professionally.
Obtain/maintain 12 lead ECG testing proficiency.

Responsibilities

Lifts, transfers, transport patients safely to an inpatient bed and to and from ancillary departments.
Collect, perform and document urine and glucometer tests and quality controls.
Collect, label, and enter specimens obtained.
Perform one-to-one monitoring on high-risk patients when requested by RN or physician.
Obtain vitals and weights.
Enter work orders in computer.
Stocks supplies at bedside.
