Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Surgery unit on the Night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). Three 12-hour shifts per week with rotating weekends.

Responsibilities include patient care, vital signs, mobility support, phlebotomy, EKGs, specimen collection, and IV/ Foley duties under RN supervision. The role requires high school diploma or equivalent and relevant CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or related certifications; BLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Relevant CNA/NCPCT/NCMA/NCMA certifications preferred.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Monitor vital signs and report changes to RN.
• Perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing and EKGs.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and ambulation.
• Collect specimens and support IV and catheter tasks as needed.
