Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Palos Park, IL is seeking a Patient Care Technician-Stepdown Hp5 for part-time night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

You will assist the RN with basic patient care, monitor vital signs, and support patient comfort in a fast-paced unit within the Northwestern Medicine system. Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent, CNA/CMA/EMT or nursing student with one semester of clinical completed, and American Heart Association BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA, CMA, EMT, or nursing student with one semester of clinical completed required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic nursing care activities as delegated by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, glucose, and intake/output.
• Assist with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Report abnormal findings to nursing staff.
• Maintain clean and orderly patient rooms.
• Prioritize unit workflow in coordination with RN/manager as needed.
• Serve as liaison between patient care units and other departments.
• Answer calls and communicate information to staff/family/patient.
• Assist with census and admission/discharge processes as needed.
