Job summary

University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health (UM UCH) is seeking a Patient Care Technician, Central Pool, for full-time night shift (7pm–7:30am) with a $2,000 sign-on bonus and 1-year commitment. The role delivers direct patient care under supervision, including vital signs, ADLs, blood draws, and data collection.

Responsibilities span from venipuncture and specimen collection to wound care, patient safety, and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure quality care and smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; CNA/GNA certification in Maryland.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities essential.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and assist with activities of daily living.
• Perform blood draws and venipuncture as needed.
• Record patient care and vital signs accurately.
• Assist in admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Promote patient safety and comfort; respond to alarms.
• Collaborate with health care team to implement the plan of care.
