Job summary
1300 Swedish Hospital in Chicago is seeking a Patient Care Technician – Nursing Assistant to support Neuro/Stroke/Tele patients on the night shift.
You will assist with hygiene, vital signs, nutrition, and mobility, document in EMR, and collaborate with RNs to ensure safe, compassionate care.
This role requires CNA certification or nursing assistant training, CPR, and strong communication.
Qualifications
- CNA certification or completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of patient care experience
- American Heart Association CPR Certification
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Ability to interact effectively with others
- Ability to uphold confidentiality standards
Responsibilities
- Provides care to patients on assigned nursing unit under the direction of a Clinical Nurse Manager
- Communicates effectively with patient, families, visitors, and health care team in a respectful manner
- Assists with patient hygiene per level of independence
- Assists with meeting elimination needs and aids in bathroom or bedside commode
- Accurately documents vital signs and EMR entries
- Gathers supplies and stocks nursing unit to ensure smooth care delivery
