Job summary

BJC HealthCare is seeking a Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician for a full-time night shift to support a team of nurses and ensure patient safety. You will collect vital signs, assist with ADLs, and help with education for patients and families in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and CNA certification, with no formal experience required. Mileage reimbursement, shift differentials, and strong patient-care focus are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience required.
• Certified Nurse Assistant certification required.

Responsibilities

• Implements direct patient care under nurse supervision and promotes patient and family centered care.
• Monitors vital signs, ADLs, intake/output, fall and pressure ulcer prevention measures, urinary catheter care, phlebotomy or point of care testing as requested.
• Assists nurse with patient and family education; documents all patient care activities with correct medical terminology; acts as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.
• Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
