Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant to support licensed nurses and care for a patient load during 7p-7a shifts with rotating weekends and holidays. This role emphasizes ADL assistance, vital signs and close collaboration with the nursing team to ensure patient safety.

The preferred candidates include CNAs or PCTs with experience in acute care. Benefits eligible, with comprehensive BJC Total Rewards. High school diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Direct patient care under nurse supervision.
• Administers ADLs and vital signs; documents care activities.

Responsibilities

• Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nurse, promoting patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Collects clinical data and information on patients, and reports changes in patient status to the nurse.
• Assists nurse with patient and family education. Documents all patient care activities with correct medical terminology.
• Acts as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.
• Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient\'s needs.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
