Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide patient-centered care under RN/LPN supervision at our Carlsbad, NM facility. You will assist with activities of daily living, data collection, and safe patient handling while maintaining communication with the care team.

The role emphasizes infection control, safety protocols, and teamwork in a fast-paced clinical setting. Previous acute care exposure or nursing program enrollment is preferred, with BCLS

Qualifications

• 0-2 years in acute care or currently enrolled in a Nursing program preferred.
• BCLS certification within 90 days of hire required
• CNA certification preferred or to be obtained

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with basic patient care and maintain a safe, organized environment.
• Record vital signs and patient data, report to RN/LPN/LVN.
• Assist with meals, bathing, grooming, linen changes, mobility, and elimination.
• Support patient positioning and use of mobility aids.
• Collect urine/stool samples and monitor blood glucose as directed.
• Communicate patient information clearly to the care team.
• Maintain infection control and PPE protocols.
• Participate in performance improvement and safety initiatives.
• Maintain regular attendance and comply with policies.
