Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Technician for full-time night shifts at our Knoxville, TN site. The role supports RN/LPN staff by delivering essential patient care, monitoring vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, and ensuring a safe, clean environment.

Strong communication and teamwork are required to coordinate care across the unit. Responsibilities include data collection, sample handling, glucose monitoring, and adherence to infection control

Qualifications

• Experience in an acute care setting or current enrollment in a nursing program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff by delivering basic patient care and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Record vital signs and collect data, reporting to RN/LPN/LVN.
• Assist with meals, bathing, grooming, mobility, and daily living activities.
• Support patient positioning, repositioning, and use of mobility aids.
• Collect samples and monitor glucose levels; document results for care team.
• Communicate patient information effectively to the care team and adapt to changes.
• Maintain infection control and PPE compliance; participate in safety initiatives.
• Remain with patients for observation as required and perform other duties as assigned.
