Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Float Pool at St. Francis Downtown.

The role involves basic patient care under RN guidance, including hygiene, mobility, and vital sign monitoring, with emphasis on compassionate, patient-centered service. Ideal candidates have 1 year of clinical experience, BLS preferred, and may have completed a nursing aide program or CNA certification.

Qualifications

• 1 year of relevant clinical experience (preferred).
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred upon hire or must obtain prior to direct patient care.
• Successful completion of nursing aide training or CNA certification, or equivalent nursing program with clinical rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including hygiene, feeding, mobility assistance, and comfort measures.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and report changes to the nurse.
• Act as liaison between patient and nurse to communicate needs and concerns.
• Deliver high-quality customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the EHR where applicable.
• Assist with hand-off/report of patient and unit needs during shifts.
