Bon Secours Mercy Health seeks a Patient Care Tech (PCT) at Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo to provide direct patient care under RN supervision in a faith-based setting. Ideal candidates will have recent acute care experience and nursing aide training or equivalent, with EPIC EHR familiarity preferred for efficient charting and patient management.

Qualifications

• Ability to clearly communicate with the healthcare team
• Ability to follow directions of the healthcare team
• Knowledge of patient safety standards and regulations
• Knowledge and demonstration of infection prevention and transmission-based precautions
• Understanding of clerical duties and office-based technology
• Team-based patient care approach
• Ability to collect patient data and document vital signs, intake/output, and patient condition
• Ability to assist with feeding, hydration, and nutrition
• Ability to assist with ambulation and mobility
• Use of clinical technology

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including comfort, hygiene, and mobility assistance.
• Act as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
• Deliver high-quality customer service to patients and families.
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the chart.
• Participate in hand-offs and report pertinent information.
• Perform delegated tasks after competency validation.
• Mobilize patients using safe techniques to promote independence.
• Encourage patient independence and personalize care to patient interests.
