Job summary

Stormont Vail Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join the care delivery team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role involves providing delegated, direct patient care, documenting care, and reporting changes for safe, quality, patient-centered care.

Independent clinical decisions are outside the scope of this position. Requirements include completing at least the first semester of an accredited nursing program or completing a medical assistant/patient care technician

Qualifications

• Successfully completed first semester in an accredited nursing program.
• Successfully completed a medical assistant or patient care technician program.
• Certification may be substituted for education requirements (CMA, CMA, CMA).

Responsibilities

• Implements identified plan through coordination of care with interdisciplinary care team to promote health and wellness.
• Communicates pertinent data and information relative to the patient, situation, or setting in a timely manner.
• Provides assistance with activities of daily living, accurate measurement and recording of weight, height, vital signs and reports changes to the assigned nurse.
