Job summary

Avera Dells Area Health Hospital in Dell Rapids, SD is seeking a Nursing Assistant to deliver routine patient care during the night shift under nurse supervision. You will assist with ambulating, bathing, feeding, and positioning, while keeping patients safe and comfortable.

You must have a High School diploma or GED and CNA certification. The 12-hour night schedule runs 6pm–6:30am with every third weekend/holiday on-call, plus a strong benefits package and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED as required.
• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe direct patient care: ambulating, bathing, positioning, feeding and addressing care needs under supervision.
• Greet patients and assist visitors, relay messages, and support department operations.
• Ambulates patients, measures inputs/outputs, and assists with transfers as needed.
• Answer calls, operate paging system, and coordinate with other departments.
• Prepare requisitions for diagnostic/therapeutic services and coordinate appointments.
• Order supplies/equipment, maintain patient rooms, and handle interdepartmental mail.
