Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Patient Care Technician for night shift. Under nurse supervision, you perform routine patient activities and delegated care with competency-based tasks.

Responsibilities include assisting with dressing, transporting patients, monitoring vital signs, and reporting abnormalities to nursing staff. CNA certification and BLS training are required, with at least 1 year of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• CNA certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience.
• BLS certification required (or provided by training).

Responsibilities

• Assist the patient with changing/dressing.
• Transports the patient by stretcher, bed, or wheelchair.
• Identifies abnormal findings that could affect outcomes (vital signs, labs, EKG, CXR).
• Report all abnormal findings to the appropriate nursing staff.
• Escorts patients to holding rooms.
• Assists with patient changing and removal of belongings.
• Verifies patient information.
• Orients patients and families to the environment.
• Obtains vital signs.
