Job summary

An unlicensed nursing assistant is needed to support patient care under the supervision of the Director and Charge Nurse. You will take vital signs, assist with admissions, reposition patients every two hours, help with meals, and document intake and output.

Education required is a high school diploma or equivalent, and BLS certification must be obtained within orientation. Prior experience is preferred; training will be provided.

Qualifications

• BLS certification must be obtained within the orientation period and kept current.
• Experience is preferred but training may be provided.

Responsibilities

• Answers call lights by carrying wireless phones or by the console.
• Obtains and records patient vital signs per unit specification.
• Assists with admissions by taking vital signs, obtaining weights, assisting with gowns, and placing telemetry patches/leads.
• Repositions patients every two hours and assists with turning.
• Ambulates patients in the hall as needed.
• Assists with meals and prepares eating areas; passes trays to patients who cannot feed themselves.
• Records intake and output accurately.
• Enters orders into the EMR and coordinates procedures.
• Assists with patient transport and keeps the department tidy.
