Job summary

University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician I (CNA) to provide direct patient care and support the nursing team in a fast-paced acute care setting. You will assist with activities of daily living, obtain vital signs, perform EKGs as needed, and contribute to safe patient care for orthopedic and medical-surgical patients.

The role requires a valid CNA license, BLS certification, and at least 1 year of experience.

Qualifications

• Valid CNA license in good standing with MBON.
• Valid American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Minimum 1 year of hospital or comparable clinical experience.
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with direct patient care and activities of daily living.
• Monitor vital signs and assist with mobility and ambulation.
• Support post-operative patient care, including safe transfers and positioning.
• Document patient information and report changes to nursing staff.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized patient care environment.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and room prep.
• Coordinate with clinical teams to implement care plans and manage workflow.
• Participate in training to enhance clinical skills.
