Job summary

Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, VA is hiring a Patient Care Technician for the Med Surg/Tele/Stroke units. The role covers patient care, vitals, phlebotomy, EKGs, and specimen collection under RN supervision.

Shifts are nights (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) with a 36-hour weekly schedule. Requires HS diploma or equivalent; CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or related programs preferred, plus BLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• AHA BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• One year of health care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with daily living activities.
• Monitor vital signs, mobility, and ambulation.
• Perform phlebotomy, point of care testing, EKGs, and specimen collection.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to RN.
