Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a part-time Patient Care Tech in Palos Heights, Illinois. Under RN supervision, you will perform basic patient care activities, monitor vital signs, assist with daily living activities, and help maintain a safe, clean unit while prioritizing patient comfort.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
CNA/EMT or nursing student with one semester clinical completed preferred.
American Heart Association BLS required.

Responsibilities

Perform basic nursing care activities as delegated by an RN, including monitoring vital signs and glucose measurements.
Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living.
Report abnormal findings or changes in condition to nursing staff.
Keep patient rooms clean and orderly; support unit workflow.
Demonstrate flexibility and multi-tasking under stress.
Prioritize unit tasks with critical thinking as needs change.
Serve as liaison between patient care units and other departments.
Answer calls politely and communicate information to the appropriate staff or patient.
