Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Illinois is seeking a Part-Time Night Patient Care Technician for the Medical Surgical Observation unit. Under an RN’s supervision, you perform basic patient care tasks, monitor vital signs, assist with daily living activities, and help maintain a safe, clean environment.

The position supports a 12-hour week schedule, is non benefits eligible, and requires a High School Diploma plus CNA/CMA/EMT or nursing student with clinicals and current BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or nursing student with one semester of clinical.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs and recording intake/output.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating) and personal care.
• Reports changes in condition to nursing staff and maintains patient room cleanliness and order.
• Manages unit workflow with the charge RN and assists with census processes as needed.
