Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Technician for Med Surg Hp3 on the night shift in Illinois. This full-time role runs 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

with alternating weekends and holidays, totaling 72 hours per pay period. Under RN supervision, you perform basic nursing care activities, monitor vitals, assist with daily living activities, and help maintain a clean and orderly environment. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• CNA/CMA/EMT or nursing student with clinical completed required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming and eating.
• Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Assists with keeping patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Demonstrates flexibility, organization, and multi-tasking under stressful situations.
• Prioritizes unit work as needs change and communicates with staff as needed.
• Serves as liaison between patient care units and other departments.
• Answers phone, intercom and call lights with proper etiquette and communicates information to staff/family/patient.
• Manages overall unit workflow with charge RN or assistant manager as needed.
• Performs pre-census and validates daily admission, discharge and census lists as needed.
