Job summary

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital seeks a Med/Surg Patient Care Technician (PCT) for full-time night shifts. You will provide direct patient care under licensed nurses, assist with ADLs, perform vital signs, and support a multidisciplinary team in a high-acuity medical unit.

Preferred candidates include CNAs, PCTs, EMTs or similar experience, with flexibility for rotating holidays and weekends. Benefits are provided through BJC Total Rewards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CNA certification preferred.
• Experience not required for entry-level applicant.

Responsibilities

• Implements direct patient care under nurse supervision, assists with ADLs and monitors vital signs.
• Collects clinical information and reports changes to the nurse promptly.
• Assists with patient and family education and maintains accurate documentation.
• Ensures supplies and equipment are available to meet patient needs.
• Participates in safety, quality, and regulatory activities and ongoing professional development.
