Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Missouri is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant to support the High Risk Cardiology unit. You will provide direct patient care under RN supervision, assist with ADLs, vital signs, and infusions, and participate in safety and education activities.

The role emphasizes 1:1 sitter support as needed, with night hours 7:00 pm–7:30 am and every third weekend. CNA certification is preferred/counted as required by the team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: No experience required.
• Certification as a CNA is required or preferred per role.

Responsibilities

• Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nurse, aiding with ADLs, vital signs, intake/output, fall and pressure ulcer prevention, catheter care, phlebotomy, or point-of-care testing.
• Collects clinical data and reports changes in patient status to the nurse.
• Assists with patient and family education; documents activities using correct medical terminology; acts as 1:1 safety sitter as needed.
• Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet patient needs.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance; engages in professional development.
