Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital is seeking a Med/Surg PCT on a full-time night shift to support a high-acuity medical/surgical unit. The role involves assisting nurses with basic patient care, vital signs, ADLs, and data collection in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and a Certified Nurse Assistant credential is preferred; experience is not required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Certified Nurse Assistant certification is preferred.
• No prior experience required for this role.

Responsabilités

• Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nurse, promoting patient and family centered care.
• Assists with ADLs, performs vital signs, intake/output, fall and pressure ulcer prevention, urinary catheter care, phlebotomy, or point of care testing as requested.
• Collects clinical data and reports changes in patient status to the nurse.
• Assists nurse with patient and family education; documents all patient care activities with correct terminology.
• Ensures availability of supplies and equipment; participates in safety and quality initiatives.
