Job summary

Deborah Heart and Lung Center is seeking a Nursing Assistant to perform direct and non-direct patient care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse or nurse manager. The role requires 1–3 years of related healthcare experience and prefers Heartsaver CPR, Nurse Aide, EKG, or Phlebotomy certifications.

Education required is a high school diploma or GED; strong English reading/writing skills are essential. Basic computer skills for Meditech are expected.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years experience as nursing assistant, EKG technician, phlebotomist or related healthcare experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; ability to read/write English.
• Heartsaver CPR certification within 3 months of employment; Nurses Aide, EKG and/or phlebotomy certifications preferable.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct and non-direct patient care duties under supervision of RN/Nurse Manager.
• Regular contact with patients and staff with tact and discretion.
• May assist with data entry and use of hospital information systems.
