Job summary

Capital Health is hiring a Patient Care Assistant for the Medical Care unit on the night shift (11:00pm - 7:30am), with every-other weekend and holiday rotations. The role includes phlebotomy, EKGs, safety duties, personal care, and specimen collection, with a focus on patient nutrition and comfort.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Six months of Nursing Assistant/Health Aid experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy, glucometer testing and EKG responsibilities.
• Provide safety-focused patient care, including restraints and fall precautions.
• Assist with personal care (bathing, mouth care, evening care, incontinence care).
• Apply dressings, slings, splints, antiembolism stockings and device care.
• Collect specimens (stool, urine, sputum) and manage ostomy/support devices.
• Assist with nutrition and tube feeding; monitor calories.
• Assist with CPR under supervision of RN/Physician.
• Maintain stocked supplies and a clean, organized environment.
