Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is hiring a Patient Care Tech to support nursing staff and provide basic patient care on the night shift. You will monitor vital signs, assist with daily living activities, and report changes to the RN.

The role emphasizes teamwork, patient safety, and efficient unit operation. Required are a High School Diploma or equivalent, CNA/CMA/EMT or nursing student with clinical exposure, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CNA/CMA/EMT or nursing student with one semester of clinical completed.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated by an RN, including monitoring vital signs and glucose measurements.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, bathing, grooming and eating.
• Reports abnormal findings to nursing staff promptly.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Prioritizes tasks and manages unit workflow during shifts.
• Acts as liaison between patient care units and other departments.
