Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Part-Time Patient Care Technician for the Medical Surgical Oncology unit to provide essential support under RN supervision. The role encompasses basic nursing tasks, ADL assistance, and careful patient monitoring during night shifts.

The position emphasizes patient-first care within a dynamic oncology environment. The candidate should have a high school diploma, relevant CNA/CMA/EMT credentials or nursing student status with clinical exposure, and BLS

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA, CMA, EMT, or nursing student with one semester of clinical completed required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including vital signs and glucose checks.
• Assists patients with ADLs such as bathing, grooming and eating.
• Reports abnormal findings or changes to nursing staff.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Demonstrates flexibility and ability to multitask under stress.
