Texas Health Fort Worth seeks a Patient Care Tech (PCT) in the General Surgical unit. The position supports patient care, data collection, and collaboration with nursing staff to meet diverse patient needs.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and complete PCT training or THR-approved program. EMTs, nursing students, and those with certification substitutions are considered; BCLS and CPI training are required. This is a night shift role with weekend/holiday requirements.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Required.
• CLIAFE must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency.
• PCT Training Program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, accredited community college program or THR approved program.
• EMT - Emergency Medical Technician Military experience with medical training equivalent.
• Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program.
• 1 year of applicable experience may substitute for a certification.
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support before providing independent patient care.
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care and assistance based on the plan of care and patient/family preferences.
• Collects and reports patient data, supports admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
• Performs technical procedures safely and documents care accurately.
• Collaborates with nurses to adapt care for diverse populations and cultural needs.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment and proactively meets patient and visitor needs.
• Demonstrates teamwork, flexibility, and effective communication across disciplines.
• Participates in process improvement, adheres to safety goals, and advocates for patients.
