Job summary

Texas Health Fort Worth is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the Surgical PCU. Part-time days, 24 hours/week, with weekend and holiday requirements. You will provide direct patient care, collect data, and support admission through discharge in a fast-paced unit.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma, PCT/EMT/related training, BCLS, CPI, and strong communication skills. This role emphasizes teamwork and safety in patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CLIA rules compliance for foreign education equivalency required.
• PCT Training Program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, or THR approved program; certification not required on hire.
• EMT or military medical training equivalent (EMT-B) required on hire.
• Nursing student or EMT without active EMT status may remain if demonstrated PCT skills.
• BCLS required before independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• CPI training maintained annually (90 days).
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and verbal/written communication skills.
• Nursing students or EMTs with incomplete study may continue if fundamentals completed.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on plan and patient/family preferences.
• Collect and report patient data; support admission, transfer, discharge.
• Perform technical procedures safely and document care.
• Collaborate with nurses to adapt care for diverse populations.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and address patient needs.
• Demonstrate teamwork and effective communication across disciplines.
• Participate in process improvement and uphold safety goals.
