Job summary

Texas Health Resources in Fort Worth is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the Float Pool to assist with patient care and daily tasks under the supervision of registered nurses.

The role requires completing the PCT training program or equivalent, BCLS certification, and strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills. Full-time night shifts, with weekend and holiday requirements, provide opportunities to contribute to high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required.
• CLIAFE compliance with foreign education equivalency.
• PCT Training Program TX CNA/NHA/NCCT accredited program or THR approved; not required to maintain cert.
• EMT training or military EMT with equivalent (EMT-B) upon hire.
• Other nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program upon hire.
• 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active certification.
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 90 days required.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Nursing students or EMTs may continue if prerequisites met and performance proven.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assistance based on care plan and patient/family preferences.
• Collect and report patient data; support admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Perform technical procedures safely and document care accurately.
• Collaborate with nurses to adapt care for diverse populations and needs.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and anticipate patient/visitor needs.
• Demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, and cross-disciplinary communication.
• Participate in process improvement and uphold safety goals.
