Job summary

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician I for full-time night shifts (7pm-7am) in the Emergency Department. You will assist doctors and nurses by meeting basic patient needs, monitor vital signs, aid with mobility, and support daily living tasks.

We value strong communication, compassion, teamwork, and proficiency with computer-based data systems. Required: HS diploma and BLS; EMT/CPCT/CNA certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and compassionate patient care are preferred.
• Ability to operate as part of a team and proficiency with computer-based data systems.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, dressing.
• Obtains and records vital signs, weights, and heights.
• Assists patients with mobility: ambulation, transfer, discharges and ROM activities.
• Performs post mortem care.
• Performs EKGs, phlebotomy and blood glucose monitoring.
• Observes and reports changes in patients' condition to the RN.
• Maintains phlebotomy equipment and inventory.
• Other related duties as assigned.
