Job summary

Edward-Elmhurst Health is seeking a Patient Care Tech for the Emergency Department night shift at Highland Park Hospital. This full-time role involves direct patient care, charting, and safe patient handling in a fast-paced ED.

Preferred CNA training and at least one nursing rotation, with current BLS certification or the ability to obtain within 90 days. Strong teamwork and basic computer skills are essential for patient care coordination.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the US.
• CNA training course preferred.
• Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing is preferred.
• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider (AHA). If not current, obtain within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Operate patient movement equipment for transfers when non-emergency.
• Assist with lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Adhere to PPE requirements, including N95/PAPR.
• Read and record patient charts accurately; communicate with health care team.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure quality patient care.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness in a fast-paced setting.
