Job summary

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Ortho care setting. You will support licensed nurses, assist with ADLs, monitor vital signs, and help maintain a safe, patient-centered environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and CNA certification, with no prior experience required. Night shifts (7pm-7:30am) with rotating holidays and weekends, benefits eligible, and shift differentials are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience required.
• Certified Nurse Assistant certification required.

Responsibilities

• Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nurse, promoting patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Collects clinical data and information on patients, and reports changes in patient status to the nurse.
• Assists nurse with patient and family education. Documents all patient care activities provided with correct medical terminology. Acts as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.
• Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development.
