Job summary

Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join the Medicine Unit 6 on the night shift. The role involves assisting nurses, supporting admissions and discharges, and ensuring patient safety on a busy 20-bed unit.

Qualified candidates include those with a High School Diploma, BLS certification within 90 days, and a CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or related credential, or RN/LPN/RT/PT students in clinicals. One year of healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire is required.
• One of the following certifications or equivalent: CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, Hospital Corps, EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT/Paramedic, RN/LPN/RT/PT clinical student, or PCT/Nursing Assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and support admissions and discharge under the supervision of a nurse.
• Observe patients’ conditions and report changes to the nurse.
• Adhere to patient safety practices and hospital policies.
