Job summary

Powers Health is seeking a part-time Patient Care Tech (Nights) on the Nursing Floor in East Chicago, IN. The role involves basic patient care and functioning as a CNA, with shifts 8-12 hours, every other weekend, and rotating holidays.

64 hours per pay period and 0.8 FTE reflect a flexible part-time schedule. Eligible for benefits through Powers Health, with a bonus-eligible position and a supportive team focused on compassionate care and patient safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Completion of a certified nurse assistant training course or 1 year of satisfactory work as a nurse assistant.
• Current state CNA certification strongly recommended.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care per hospital policies and procedures.
• Answers call lights and relays information to staff.
• Serves patient food trays and nourishment.
• Assists with patient mobility and transfers.
• Assists with patient ambulation as directed.
• Transports patients to designated areas as needed.
• Collects and labels specimens for laboratory submission.
• Assists with pickup/delivery of requisitions, supplies, and equipment.
• Maintains a safe, clean, aseptic work area.
