Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, IA, seeks a Patient Care Technician to support safe, patient-centered care on the night shift with supervision by licensed nursing staff.

Responsibilities include accurate hand-offs, documentation, patient privacy, and maintaining clean rooms. Prior PCT/CNA experience and BCLS certification are preferred and required training is offered as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
• Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse and Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training required.
• One of the following educational paths preferred: CNA/Health Support program, 2 years in a bachelor’s program, 1 year in an associate degree in nursing.

Responsabilités

• Provide safe and effective patient care under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Communicate important patient information during hand-offs and with families.
• Maintain accurate, real-time documentation of care.
• Protect patient privacy and follow safety guidelines.
• Assist in cleanliness and organization of patient rooms and department areas.
