Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids is seeking a Part-time Patient Care Tech for the Short Stay Observation Unit (0.2 Day/Eve). You will provide safe, effective patient care under a licensed nurse, support handoffs, and help organize daily patient care activities in a fast-paced unit.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent; CNA or Health Support Professional program preferred; current CPR/BLS; and mandatory reporter training in Iowa.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• CNA or Health Support Professional program preferred.
• Prior Patient Care Tech or CNA experience preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required or preferred.
• Iowa Mandatory Reporter training required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective patient care under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Document patient care in real time and communicate changes in patient condition.
• Coordinate with the team to ensure proper handoffs and information sharing.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient rooms and unit areas.
• Support daily unit operations and safety guidelines as needed.
