Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year experience in direct patient care.
• Six months recent experience in direct provision of patient care activities or completion of LVHN's inexperienced technical partner course.
• Ability to follow direction and provide accurate reports.
• Attainment and maintenance of unit-specific competencies.
• Ability to organize and prioritize assignments in the delivery of patient care.
• Basic computer skills.
• American Heart Association BLS certification within 30 days (PA).

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care and related activities under the RN supervision.
• Employs observational skills and communicates findings to the RN.
• Uses effective verbal and non-verbal communication with patients and staff.
• Functions as a team member supporting unit and hospital goals.
• Demonstrates team-building during orientation of new staff as assigned.
• Performs validated technical skills based on clinical unit practice.
