Job summary

Jackson North Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Associate 1 to support patient care in the Medical Surgical unit. This full-time night shift position offers opportunities to work closely with the health care team to provide essential nursing support and education using standard health information systems.

Required are completion of an approved Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program, a MA or CNA credential, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant training program.
• Medical Assistant Certification or CNA license required; phlebotomy certification preferred.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required at unit level.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-focused care and education using clinical information tools.
• Assist healthcare team with procedures; prepare supplies and equipment; support patient mobility and hygiene.
• Obtain vital signs, perform basic nursing support tasks, and document in the health record.
