Job summary

North Shore Medical Center, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support licensed staff with daily patient care tasks. You will help with bathing, dressing, feeding, and basic monitoring, including vital signs and 1:1 safety checks.

You will document care activities in the EHR, assist with admissions and discharges, and help maintain clean, stocked rooms while supporting a collaborative care team and positive patient experiences.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care-related duties and clinical functions as assigned, including vitals, EKGs, bathing, and ambulating patients.
• Assist RNs and physicians with exams and treatments as required.
• Document height, weight, intake/output, and glucose results in the EHR.
• Assist with meals and feeding as needed.
• Ensure patient rooms are stocked, equipped and cleaned as needed.
• Retrieves and cleans equipment and reports malfunctions per policy.
• Assist with admitting and discharging patients.
• Facilitate orientation of new PCA team members; collaborate with care team.
