Job summary

Capital Health in Hopewell, NJ is hiring for a Nursing Assistant/UAP on the overnight shift (11:00pm–7:30am) with every-other weekend and holiday coverage. You will perform phlebotomy, glucometer testing, and EKG duties while helping ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, wound care dressings, nutrition support, ostomy care, and CPR under supervision; plus stocking supplies and keeping a clean, organized unit.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Experience: Six months of Nursing Assistant/Health Aid experience or currently enrolled in LPN/RN nursing program preferred.
• Other Credentials: AHA Heartsaver AED. Non-Licensed must obtain before end of orientation period. 4 hours of Stroke related CE annually if assigned to certain units.
• Knowledge and Skills: Proficient in English, verbal and written communication.
• Special Training: Capital Health UAP Training program within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy, glucometer testing and EKG responsibilities.
• Provides for safety aspects of patient care (assists with patient restraints, follows fall precautions, responds to emergency situations).
• Provides personal care (bathing, mouth care, evening care, incontinence care to patient).
• Applies aseptic dressings, slings, splints, antiembolism and sequential pressure stockings.
