Licking Memorial Health Systems (LMHS) is hiring a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for the 5 East Med Surg Post Surgical unit in Newark, OH. This full-time day shift position supports nurses by performing essential patient care activities and monitoring in a high‑quality hospital setting.

Responsibilities include lifts/transfers, specimen collection and labeling, vitals, and EMR documentation. LMHS emphasizes patient safety, state‑of‑the‑art technology, and compassionate care for the community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification required.
• STNA/NA/MA licensure preferred.
• Read, write, and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Lifts, transfers, and transports patients to beds and departments.
• Collect, perform, and document urine and glucometer tests and QC.
• Collect, label, and enter specimens.
• One-to-one monitoring for high-risk patients as directed by RN/physician.
• Obtain vitals signs and weights.
• Enter work orders in the computer.
• Stock supplies at the bedside.
